In 2007, PowerSearch will be extended to search a reat deal more with the launch of PowerSearch Plus
In order to ensure that subscribers are able to find information quickly and efficiently, regardless of the database used, Gale, part of Cengage Learning is introducing a new search platform with a similar look and feel for all our databases.
PowerSearch will provide a sophisticated yet simple solution for managing the wealth of periodical, reference and primary source information available from Gale, using a single system.
If you subscribe to any of the following databases, this change will affect you:
Academic ASAP, Computer Database, Custom Newspapers, Custom Journals, Discovering Collection, European Business ASAP, Expanded Academic ASAP, General Business File ASAP, General Reference Center, Gold Health Reference Center, Infotrac Onefile, LegalTrac, Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center, Student Resource Center (all collections)
Here are just some of the features that you will find on all our databases on the new platform:

A new improved interface which will look the same, regardless of which Gale database you are searching, making user training much easier

Cross-database searching, which will saves you time. Perform one search across all databases

An enhanced subject guide for choosing the appropriate search topic

Content will be separated in the results screen by ‘tabs’ so users can easily identify reference, journal or newspaper content

If you are already a user of the Gale Virtual Reference Library you will be familiar with the new improved user interface, as this collection was moved in January 05.
On 1st August 2006, all customers who had InfoTrac Databases were automatically switched across to the new Powersearch interface.
If you have the Digital Archives or Resource Centers in your collection, this will be switched over to the new user interface at a later phase, and remains on the InfoTrac platform for the time being. However, the only change you will notice is in the format of the menu page when you log in to your subscription.
There is no need to make any technical changes, and there are no additional charges – all current subscribers will automatically see the new interface and features. Be assured that all the functionality and content which you already have in the InfoTrac collections remains intact.
