NewsVault Special Collection:
A Resource for Civil Rights in the U.S.

The 4th April marks the anniversary of the death of Martin Luther King, Jr.
The civil rights leader joined the crusade for equal rights for black people in America in the mid-1950s. He advocated the use of non-violent tactics such as sit-ins and protest marches, and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.

To commemorate the anniversary of Dr King's death, we have collected sample searches on U.S. civil rights from Gale NewsVault and made them freely available.
